About Nikki
Hi, I'm Nikki
Founder of 99 Cats — registered nurse, devoted cat mum, and the person who will love your cat like their own.
How it started
Inspired by Claudius
My cat-sitting journey began in 2016 after I adopted my first cat, Claudius, from Cats Protection. After booking a cat sitter for him while I was away, I realised how rewarding it must be to care for other people's beloved pets. What started with one or two clients quickly grew into a loyal customer base built through trust, reliability and genuine care.
Claudius came into my life following a difficult breakup and became much more than a pet. While I initially thought I had rescued him, the truth is that he rescued me. As an FIV-positive indoor cat, he required specialist care throughout his life and was later diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, kidney disease and recurrent pancreatitis.
Supporting him through these conditions meant spending years learning about feline health, researching treatment options, attending veterinary appointments and administering medication. This hands-on experience gave me invaluable knowledge of caring for cats with complex medical needs. Claudius remained my constant companion until his passing in 2023.

Life with Marie, Alan and Edith
Today I'm proud cat mum to Marie Curie (5), Alan Turing (3) and Edith Cavell (2), all of whom have their own rescue stories and keep life wonderfully busy. Living with multiple cats has taught me that every cat has their own personality, preferences and routine — and I believe the best care comes from respecting those individual needs.

My background
15 years as a registered nurse
Alongside running 99 Cats, I have worked as a registered nurse specialising in Emergency Nursing for the past 15 years. The calm under pressure, attention to detail, and genuine care for those in your charge that make a good nurse are the same qualities I bring to every cat I look after. I am also fully insured, so you can have complete peace of mind when leaving your cat in my care.
"Because nobody looks after your cat quite like a fellow cat lover"
I understand that leaving your cat in someone else's care can feel daunting. My aim is to provide reliable, compassionate and attentive care, giving you peace of mind while you're away and ensuring your cat remains happy, comfortable and well cared for in their own home.
